Another HWD Original!
The HWD Ranch is located within the stunning Hidden Creeks parkland near the confluence of Browns Creek and Mormon Creek. The parkland provides a key migration corridor and perennial water source to a full complement of large mammals including black bear, mountain lion, mule deer, bobcat, American badger, grey fox, long-tailed weasel, ring-tailed cat, and the endangered California Condor.
Nature won’t be the only thing we’ll experience. We may get a chance to meet Ferdinand, a bull that roams the area and a couple of wild horses. There are lots of old artifacts to explore along the way, including old ranch houses, abandoned ranch vehicles, a dam and much more! So expect a lot of stops along the way.
DIRECTIONS:
Head toward the map pin using Google Map. Ignore private road signs. You are going to park on right side in a turnout on Brown’s Canyon Rd. The first picture below shows an old for-sale sign post. You can park in turnout immediately before or immediately after that. We’ll meet in the driveway by that sign. See 2nd pic below. This is the entrance to the old Misty Hollow ranch, now owned by MRCA and part of their park system. See 3rd pic for parking and ranch overview.
