Intro Hike and Trail First Aid Info

Join this moderate out and back hike, 5.5 miles, 898 elevation gain offering views and a cardio workout. In addition, we’ll stop at the halfway point, at the Ridge Crest Trail head, to catch our breath and review some hiking related first aid (twisted ankles, poison ivy, bee stings, blisters, heat stroke, and more).

After the hike down, feel free to join us for a shared brunch picnic. This is a great opportunity to meet people, make new hiking friends, and find out about other opportunities to build your outdoor skills.

Free 10-Essentials cards will be provided to all participants.

Please bring sun protection (a hat, sunscreen, glasses), two liters of water or other hydrating liquid, and a trail snack.

Gather at the grassy hill near the restrooms. Look for WTC hats like the one in my profile pic to identify our group.

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
