A Coastal Trek To The Calif. Avocado Festival in Carpinteria

October 4 @ 10:30 am - 4:30 pm

CALIFORNIA AVOCADO FESTIVAL
https://avofest.com/

CDH has been posting a popular bike ride to the OJAI DAY FESTIVAL the last few years and I thought that another easy hike to the CALIFORNIA AVOCADO FESTIVAL in Carpinteria might find interest again among our Friday Trekkers. Strolling along the Carpinteria Bluffs with views of the ocean and a visit to The Seal Sanctuary along the way to the California Avocado Festival should fit well with our Friday Trekkers that would be willing to take on a longer event than what we’ve been doing. We would initially meet at the Park and Ride off the 101 Fwy. and Rancho Rd. before driving 40 minutes to Carpinteria exiting the 101 at Bailard Ave. and heading west of the 101 Fwy. to The Carpinteria Bluffs Trailhead at the Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve. After working up an appetite following the Carpinteria Bluffs trail to The Avocado Festival, we’ll then spend a couple of hours there enjoying what this area offers. We’ll most likely split up at this time as we did last year. Some left early and skipped lunch, while others ate either at the festival or checked out the Island Brewing Company. I personally will purchase food at The Spot and eat at the park across the street before checking out the brewery.
