Upper Zuma Falls via Backbone and Zuma Canyon Trail

Hello Fellow Hikers,
This is a beautiful area still green with wild flowers, creek crossings and a waterfall ( should still have water ) this hike is a nice gradual incline so you can enjoy the views yet still get in a good workout. By 9:00am the parking lot fills up so we plan to start at 8:30am however if parking is filling up several people have parked on the side road. I have attached the AllTrails link for directions, stats and photos….

Trail out and back
Miles 6.1
Elevation Gain 948 ft
Rated moderate
Dogs allowed
Parking lot plus side road
Restrooms are located at trailhead

As of now there is no sweeper for this hike so please know if you feel you can not finish for any reason please turn back early.

Please check back on hike info as rain, heat advisory, strong winds or low attendance may cause the hike to be rescheduled

We will always follow Jim’s Golden Rules:
1. Hike your own hike
2. Please stop at every junction and split to wait for others to catch up

Please remember to bring all essentials you’ll need for a hike

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
