Join me on a walkabout near The Santa Susana Pass above Chatsworth Park North if you like hiking easy trails in a very rocky environment. We first did this in 2016 when we climbed a rock or two searching for the cave up there while those less inclined to do so took a short break and watched. After this event, as an option, you’re welcomed to join Cristina (I’m sure she’ll come) and me for some BBQ at Rosies BBQ Kitchen.

EARLIER MEETUP LOCATION AND TIME: Those out my way can meet me in Woodland Hills at 8:30 a.m. and take off from there in a car pool. Meet at the corner of Leonora Dr. and Ponce Avenue. Ponce Ave. is the first street east of Fallbrook. We can park on Ponce which is not in front of any homes. Those that don’t drive can help pay for gas. It’s about a 30 minute drive to the trailhead, so $5/passenger should be collected by drivers.
DURATION: 3 hours give or take depending on the group.
TERRAIN: Single and double track trails
DISTANCE: 3 mile loop for those preferring the easier route and a little extra for the more adventurous rock scramblers in the group seeking to see the cave.
ELEVATION GAIN: 600′ +
THE PACE: No faster than the slowest hiker.
LEVEL: Experienced beginner. Climbing among rocks is optional
