Santa Cruz Island Day Trip with Island Packers

BOOK YOUR PASSAGE ASAP! Reservations fill up fast. Please book your passage before you sign-up with Trailblazers, as the boat may fill-up.

The trip by boat lasts a little over an hour leaving Ventura Harbor at 9:00 AM. They want us to be at the dock 45 minutes prior to departure (8:15 AM). Once we arrive on the Island, we’ll hike 2.5 miles out to Potato Harbor via Cavern Point, and return along Potato Harbor Road. When we reach the camp ground we’ll have lunch. The hike is very moderate and should return us in plenty of time for some sightseeing at the historic ranch or extra hiking into Scorpion Canyon. The return trip leaves Scorpion Anchorage at 4:00 PM.

You must bring your own WATER and FOOD. There are no concessions on the island. You will also have to book your own passage on the boat. The price (RT) is $61 for age 55+ and $66 for the younger crowd. PLEASE BOOK YOUR TRIP BEFORE YOU SIGN-UP WITH TRAILBLAZERS. Feel free to bring a guest. I would book your trip ASAP, as they may fill-up. You can book online at:

YOU WILL BOOK THE RETURN TRIP SEPARATELY after you book the one-way trip to the island.

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
