Join me on yet another garden walk for beginner hikers on up. This time we’ll visit the Botanic gardens of Santa Barbara.

We’ll:

-explore the beauty of California’s native landscapes, from cool redwood forests to sandy deserts – all in one place.

* discover history and beauty on easy hiking trails past the authentic Japanese Teahouse, the historic 1807 Mission Dam and naturalistic gardens entirely of native plants.

-be Inspired by a stroll through the Water Wise Home Garden with drought tolerant native plants which you can buy at the Nursery there.

ADMISSION:
$16.00 Adults
$12.00 Seniors (60 + years)

This area is a little over an hours drive from Thousand Oaks, so keep that in mind when signing on. To make it easier for you, I’m setting up an earlier meetup in Thousand Oaks at the corner of Robert S Haaland Dr. and S. Rancho Rd. in the park in ride there. Riders can help pay for driver’s gas ($10). Just make sure you ride in a car that the driver has/hasn’t plans to eat after the event.

AFTER THE HIKE I WILL BE HAVING LATE LUNCH AT:

THE NUGGET 2318 Lillie Ave in Summerland around 1:30 pm.

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
