Saturday November 5, 2022 – PCT North to Fish Creek Trail Camp/ back via Maxwell Road (in part)
Meet at Trailhead: 8:15AM, directions/ details below We leave at 8:30 Sharp.
Distance: ~ 8 miles total, out and back / lollipop style hike (as we will only be on Maxwell Road for a short while coming back, before crossing over again on to the PCT, on return leg)
Gain: 1700’ Gain
Rating: Moderate + (some serious heart thumping, switch backing gain in the first 2 miles of this hike)
This hike is not for beginners – you need to be in good physical condition.
Time: ~ 4 hours hiking
Description: If you enjoy the single track feel of the PCT, expansive uninterrupted views way across the desert, 4 abandoned graphite mines, and probably meeting no one else on a back country trail in the Angeles Forest that is close to SCV, this hike is for you. Sadly we will be hiking through a burn zone so it will be a variety of texture as we make our way from the trail head to the snacky area at Fish Creek, still a beautiful wild campgrounds that was spared somewhat from the Lake Hughes Fire back in 2020.
Meet your leader:
At the PCT Junction trail heat at 8:15 A.M The trailhead is where the PCT crosses Lake Hughes Road:
