ROUTE < This is the route we will be riding
We can have a cool ride along the coast between Ventura and Oxnard versus an inland route where the temps are soaring. The route takes us from the Ventura Harbor to Qxnard Channel Islands. Almost half of this route will be on paved bike paths.
Make sure you have slime in your innertubes or tires.
MEETUP LOCATION AND TIME: San Buenaventura State Beach, Lot A, Ventura at 8:00 am in parking lot.
PARKING FEE: Yes, but there is free street parking outside the park
DISTANCE: 31 miles.
ELEVATION GAIN: 400′
DEBRIEFING: After the bike ride, as an option, we can have lunch at the Lucky Thai Cuisine (1141 S Seaward Ave, Ventura).
THE PACE: No faster than the slowest biker in the group
DURATION: 4+ hours including lunch
LEVEL: Easy intermediate
TERRAIN: Paved bike paths and streets
