1K, 5K, 10K Course Information
The Malibu Search & Rescue Trial Race (run or walk) is held in beautiful and historic Paramount Ranch home of scenic trails, valley oak savannah plats and wildlife including red-tailed hawks, deer, and acorn woodpeckers.
The race courses are primarily single track dirt trail and dirt fire roads.
- 1K Kid’s Course
- approx. 0.71 miles with 115’ of vertical elevation
- 5K Course – 8:00 am Start Time
- approx. 3.1 miles with 280’ of vertical elevation
- The 5K has 1 aid station with water and Skratch Hydration
- Pre-filled cups are available as well as water bottle refills.
- 10K Course – 7:45 Start Time
- approx. 6.0 miles with 650’ of vertical elevation
- The 10K has 3 aid stations with water and Skratch Hydration
- Pre-filled cups are available as well as water bottle refills.

Will there be an after-race party?
Yes! You will be able to celebrate your finish at the after-race party featuring exhibitor food booths, kids bounce house, local business booths, beer garden (21+), and much more.
Are there Sponsorship Opportunities?
Yes! Come and support Malibu Search and Rescue, your local search & rescue team. The all-volunteer team relies on private donations to support its life-saving missions. 100% of each dollar generated from this event goes directly to the team, its equipment and its mission.

Do you have Volunteer Opportunities?
Yes! Give back to the Santa Monica Mountains community and support the Malibu Search and Rescue Team by volunteering. Opportunities to help are with parking, registration, post-race festival, aid stations, and pre-running or sweeping the course. All levels of experience welcome!
All volunteers get race swag, meals, and drinks.

Is the race fee refundable or transferable?
Your entry to the 2022 Malibu Search and Rescue Trail Run is non-refundable and non-deferrable, BUT, it is transferrable to another runner, prior to October 28, 2022. All proceeds go to the non-profit 501(c)(3) Malibu Mountain Rescue Team, Inc (tax ID 95-3786532).
