IF YOU ATTENDED THE LAST FIELD TRIP FOR “ITS NOT MY FAULT” PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS ONE. THIS WAS MEANT FOR THISE WHO WERE UNABLE TO ATTEND PREVIOUSLY.
WE ARE LIMITING THIS TRIP TO 25 PEOPLE AND 10 CARS, SO IF YOU SIGN UP, YOU
MUST ARRANGE WITH OTHER PARTICIPANTS TO CARPOOL FROM CARLS JR BECAUSE PARKING AT SITES IS LIMITED.
We will view the surface expressions of the San Andreas Fault (SAF), the boundary between two tectonic plates. We will see old sag ponds, local geology, long linear features, displaced volcanic rock, pulverized granite, shutter ridges, fault gouge on a road cut, and have a BYO (Lunch will not be provided) picnic lunch in a mountain meadow.
The event will be hosted by Mary Bates, Geography/ Geology Professor, College of the Canyons and the Events and Stewardship Coordinator for the Community Hiking Club (CHC)
The CHC does not arrange carpool shuttles. However, if you would like to carpool, we suggest meeting at:
