**Sunday May 1st, 2022 Henninger Flats Via Eaton Canyon**

**RATING:** Intermediate **TRAILHEAD TIME: 9:30 A.M.**

**DESCRIPTION:**
Enjoy beautiful views of the valley and surrounding hills on this 7**.2 mile round trip hike with 1,700 feet elevation gain** and see the home of L.A. County Experimental Forestry Nursery where about 120,000 new trees are grown here each year and transplanted all over Southern California. We will have lunch at the summit or we may go to a nearby restaurant. On our return we may do an additional short hike to Eaton waterfall which will **add an additional mile** to the hike. **We will meet in front of the Eaton Canyon Nature Center at 9:30 a.m.**

**Park in the parking lot or the overflow parking lot. We will meet at the nature center at the destination link above.**

**WHAT TO BRING:**
Two liters of water, lunch, snacks, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, hiking boots or shoes with good traction, daypack, hiking poles/sticks, shorts and a T-shirt or long pants and long sleeved shirt, depending on weather. Clothes should be loose fitting, and light-colors are preferable

**FOOTWEAR:**
Hiking boots or shoes with good traction. **Absolutely no sandals or open toed shoes.**
