🌤️Fort Wildwood – Paradise Falls – And More

With two waterfalls, scenic volcanic outcroppings, a variety of hiking trails, several pleasant picnic areas, and abundant open space, Wildwood Park is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the nearby city.

For you stairs fans: Did you know Wildwood has a trail with 76 steps?

Highlights along the way:
Fort Wildwood
Lynnmere Trail
Paradise Falls
Oak Grove – picnic site
76 Steps Trail
Gold Canyon Trail
A Tunnel

About Wildwood Fort: Built in 1967, it was torn down in 2009 as an “attractive nuisance.” If you were a kid growing up in TO it was paradise. For a bit of fort history and photos visit the HWD Facebook page

💦There will be a couple of creek crossings on this hike. We might get our feet wet on one of them.

🍌We’ll have an extended break at the Oak Grove picnic grounds

🚻There is potable water and bathrooms along the way.

👉Hike is appx 7 miles with 1500 ft total ascent and is rated MEDIUM. See the HWD hike ratings guide

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
