BIKE RIDE FROM VENTURA TO CARPINTERIA AND BACK
We’ll be riding from San Buenaventura State Beach in Ventura to Carpinteria where we’ll enjoy lunch at the Siam Elephant Thai Restaurant.
Make sure you bring along a spare inner tube. If you have a reflective vest of something similarly as bright, this is a good time to wear it.
MEETUP LOCATION AND TIME: Buenaventura state park in the parking lot that’s nearest to the beach and the bike path at 8:00am. There are restrooms here.
MEETUP DIRECTIONS FROM 101: Exit at Seaward Avenue in Ventura and head towards the ocean. Turn right on Pierpoint Blvd and take it to the end which will take you into the park.
PARKING FEE: Probably about $10 for the day. However, there’s also street parking, but that can be hard to find in a beach city.
DISTANCE: 37 miles round trip
DURATION: 5 hours
ELEVATION GAIN: 700′
BIKE TRAIL DESCRIPTION: A paved two lane bike path and a bike lane on Pacific Coast Highway and some Street riding when we run out of bike path.
THE PACE: 9 MPH on up. This will be difficult if you don’t have an ebike.
LEVEL: Advanced Beginner on up
LUNCH: After arriving in Carinteria, we can have lunch at the Spot.
