This hike starts at the Hill Canyon Trail and continues to the Lichen Trail via the Western Plateau and Outlaw Trails. At the peak of the ridge that separates the Western Plateau from the Santa Rosa Valley, you’ll have amazing views of a beautiful system of deeply eroded canyons, plateaus, and ridgelines in the northwest portion of the Conejo Valley. We will then hike to the power station via the Lichen Trail and take a short break to enjoy the view. Lastly, we’ll head down the ridgeline to Hawk Canyon Trail and back to our cars.
This hike is about 6 miles with an approximate elevation of 1000’ gain/loss.
Directions:
From Moorpark Road in the Santa Rosa Valley, drive west on Santa Rosa Road for 3.7 miles, turn left (south) on Hill Canyon Road for about 0.6 miles to the parking lot.
