Ok y’all the heat has arrived so we are gonna do this one a little earlier as it is a little longer then Tapo with a little more elevation gain Tapo is usually a hour in a half hike this one might take us the full two hours but will be done before the heat comes out.

Hello Fellow Hikers,
Gonna be doing the Chumash Trail in Simi Valley to the junction of Rocky Peak then make our way back. It’s a great moderate hike and a great workout with scenery of rock formations and mountain tops. The Chumash out and back is not on AllTrails but the above website will give you info pics and some direction to the trailhead. We will be meeting off Flanagan Dr you can either park on the street or in the park both are free parking. Please follow the pin below for directions…

Miles 5.2
Rated moderate
Trail out and back
Elevation Gain about 1200 ft
Dogs are allowed

As of now there is no sweeper for this hike so please know if you feel you can not finish for any reason please turn back early

Please check back on hike info as rain, heat advisory, strong winds or low attendance may cause the hike to be rescheduled

We will always follow Jim’s Golden Rules:

  1. Hike your own hike
  2. Please stop at every junction and split to wait for others to catch up

Please remember to bring all essentials you’ll need for a hike

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
