Candy Cane Lane – Christmas Lights and Cheer!

There are many “Candy Cane Lanes” in the Los Angeles area, and this is a good one. Come for a walk that even a beginner can do, to see the fabulous lighting and decorative displays put on by this neighborhood, many of which appear to be done by professionals!

This event is also suitable for children.

We’ll walk a path of about 2.5 miles down flat streets at a slow pace. Bring your camera, and cash if you plan on buying snacks or drinks from street vendors.

From the meeting point at the intersection of Lubao Ave. and Calvert St.:

Southwest on Lubao St. for 1 block.
Right (west) on Oxnard St. for 1.8 mi.
Right (north) on Canoga Ave. for 0.6 mi.
See location on the right (east).

Route

The decorated area is between Corbin Ave. and Winnetka Ave., between Oxnard St. and Martha St. While we have a planned route (photo included with the description), we may deviate depending on where houses are decorated.

After Party
Yes, there will be cheer! This is a reservation event, so it is posted as a separate event.

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
