This is a great mid-range hike for folks who want some good exercise and at the same time enjoy the local beauty offered in the Santa Monica Mountains.
Join us for a moderate out and back hike that begins at the Caballero Canyon Trailhead
Hiking Difficulty:Moderate, 1000 ft elevation gain, Approximately 7 miles
Bring water, snacks, hat
Directions to the Trailhead: Meet at the Caballero Canyon trailhead on Reseda Bl. From the 101 Freeway, exit at Reseda Blvd and turn south. Drive for about 2.2 miles. There is parking on both sides of the street; the trailhead is on the east side of Reseda Blvd. across the street from Braemar Country club. The trailhead is clearly marked with a big sign. Parking on street is OK. Parking is free.
Do not go to the very top of Reseda Blvd
From the EAST: Take the 101 Freeway West/North toward Ventura. Exit at Reseda Blvd. Turn LEFT (toward “Tarzana”) onto Reseda, go under the freeway bridge, cross Burbank and Ventura Boulevards. Continue on Reseda uphill for approximately 2.2 miles.
From the WEST: Take the 101 Freeway South/East toward Los Angeles. Exit at Reseda Boulevard. Turn RIGHT (toward “Tarzana”) onto Reseda, cross Burbank and Ventura Boulevards. Continue on Reseda for approximately 2.2 miles
Event fee: USD1.00 per person to be collected at the trailhead.
