Full moon potluck. Bring drinks and snack to share. Sitting on dirt not required. Comfy picnic benches at the top. Plenty of free parking
👉NO WHITE LIGHTS ALLOWED ON HIKE. Green and/or red lights are ok (but lights may not be needed since the area will be well lit by the moon).
If you require a white light then this hike is not for you. Get one of these and stuff it into your backpack for future night hikes. https://amz.run/4bkH. (emergencies excepted, of course)
This month’s full moon is a seasonal Blue Moon. It is also this year’s Sturgeon Moon. It’s called Sturgeon Moon because of the great number of this huge freshwater fish that could once be found in lakes and rivers in North America.
Our goal will be to reach Inspiration Point, a flat-topped bump on a ridge overlooking the entire Will Rogers spread with fantastic views of Santa Monica Bay, Century City, the Wilshire corridor — and all the way to downtown L.A.
At appx 3 miles with about 400 feet total ascent, this hike is rated EASY See the hike rating guide here: https://www.hikingwithdean.com/hike-rating-guide/
🍺🍹 Don’t forget to bring something cold to drink and snacks to share on Inspiration Point
