BIKE RIDE – Lake Balboa to Burbank and back

BIKE RIDE FROM LAKE BALBOA TO BURBANK AND BACK
This is an easy event for a change which has very little elevation gain with a great place to have breakfast or lunch along the way.
The Orange Line bikeway runs along the Orange Line in the San Fernando Valley. We’ll be starting at the Swan Boat Rental Parking lot at Lake Balboa and head out to Valley College. From there, we get onto Chandler Blvd and eastward. Then we continue until we hit the Burbank bike path and take it to its eastern end. Along the way back, we will stop to eat at the Coral Cafe in Burbank. The food there is worth the trip alone.

Note that on Chandler Blvd, you will be riding in a bike lane on the road and not on a bike path. There is also about a 1 mile detour between the Sepulveda and Van Nuys stations due to construction.

Make sure you bring along a spare inner tube.

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
