Space Mountain is the name for Los Robles Trail West, starting at Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks and switchbacking up the hill to the west. No one seems to know why it’s called Space Mountain, though maybe the Disney ride inspired it. Maybe former major league pitcher Bill “Spaceman” Lee had something to do with it. Maybe it’s the final frontier. Come out and throw your equally ludicrous guess into the ring.
We’ll hike up to Angel Vista for the views and a short break before turning around to hike back down to our starting point.
We will hike about 8.25 miles total with about 1350’ of gain.

Directions: From the 101 in Thousand Oaks, turn south on Moorpark Road. We will meet in the parking lot at the corner of Moorpark and Greenmeadow.
