A Wildwood Park hike to Lizard Rock and Paradise Falls. Trails traveled include Moonridge, Stagecoach Bluff, Wildwood Canyon and Indian Creek

PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING WHENEVER POSSIBLE, ESPECIALLY AT TRAIL HEAD AND BREAK SPOTS. WEAR A MASK OR FACE COVERING WHENEVER SOCIAL DISTANCING IS IMPOSSIBLE OR IMPRACTICAL. IT IS MANDATORY THAT YOU BRING A FACE COVERING. BRING HAND SANITIZER IF YOU HAVE IT.

Details

With two waterfalls, scenic volcanic outcroppings, miles of shared-use for all levels of trail users, several pleasant picnic areas, and abundant open space, Wildwood Park is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the nearby city.

I don’t have a specific path laid out for us yet but we will use the following trails: Indian Creek, Moonridge, Stagecoach Bluff, Lizard Rock, Wildwood Canyon and more!

This event won’t be advertised on the Meetup site, but I will post a spot for a photo album later.

HIKE IS ABOUT 5.2 MILES WITH ABOUT 1,360 FT TOTAL ASCENT AND IS RATED MEDIUM. SEE THE HIKE RATING GUIDE

Directions:

Head toward address given and turn right into 2nd driveway (Lot #1) after Canna St, near basketball and tennis courts.   Alternatively, turn right into first driveway after Canna St (Lot #2 – it has bathrooms). We meet at Lot #1

  2. Are we doing the steep climb to the Lizard Rock saddle?

    • We’ll be going up from Stagecoach Bluff Trail….I think that is a no (the 3 other ways I go are much steeper)

  3. We have a big group and so I have modified the directions to meeting spot and parking. Please review above in hike description. And remember, it’s the hike starts at 9am, not the parking.

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.
