**Westridge (Mandeville Canyon) to Nike Missile Site**

**Sunday March 27th, 2022: Westridge to Nike Missile Site**
**RATING: Moderate MEETING TIME: 9:30 AM. LEAVING: 9:35 AM**
**DESCRIPTION:**
Please join us on this seven (7) mile round trip hike up to the Nike Missile site. The hike is on an uphill fire road to the top of San Vicente Peak where we will gather at the picnic tables for lunch. The Nike Missile Site has great views, along with bathrooms and running water. The hike goes uphill gently, has around 1000 ft of elevation, and is appropriate for energetic beginners. It is rated as moderate due to the distance.
**WHAT TO BRING:**
Two liters of water, lunch, snacks, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, hiking boots or shoes with good traction, daypack, hiking poles/sticks, shorts and a T-shirt or long pants and long sleeved shirt, depending on weather. Clothes should be loose fitting, and light-colors are preferable
**FOOTWEAR:** Hiking boots or shoes with good traction. **Absolutely no sandals or open toed shoes.**
**Directions to the Trailhead:**
From I-405:
Exit Sunset Blvd WEST.
Go WEST on Sunset Blvd for 2.3 miles.
RIGHT turn onto Mandeville Canyon Rd. Go 0.3 miles, then
FIRST LEFT onto Westridge Rd.
Go 2.3 miles to the end of Westridge Rd, then park on the street
Check parking signs for any restrictions (none known at the time of this posting).
