Tuesday Moderate Hikers Backbone Trail Sycamore Canyon to Ray Miller

Moderately paced 10-mile, 1800 foot gain hike on the Sycamore Canyon, Wood Canyon, Overlook, and Ray Miller trails finishing at the La Jolla Campground. The outing will be a one-way shuttle hike (shuttle less than two miles).

Meet 8:30 am in the Ray Miller Trailhead parking lot (fee, or free with an appropriate California State Park parking pass) or on Pacific Coast Highway (free). The Ray Miller trailheadis 4.9 miles northwest of Yerba Buena Road (Neptune’s Net); or 4.2 miles southeast of Las Posas Road. Go past the yellow gate into the parking area or park along the shoulder (on the east side of PCH). From there, we will car shuttle 2 miles to the Sycamore Canyon parking lot.

Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and a good attitude. Rain, excessive heat, or Red Flag alert cancels.
