Summit Valley Edmund D. Edelman Park

BEFORE YOU WILL BE MOVED TO THE GOING LIST, YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE YOUR CDH PROFILE (The three questions must be answered with a “yes”) IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO.

Edmund D. Edelman Park is located in Summit Valley at the head of Topanga Canyon. The 1500 ft. ridge at the north end of this 659-acre park separates rural Topanga Canyon from the urban San Fernando Valley. This hike loops through two valleys, crosses a ridge, and parallels Topanga Creek.
We’ll cover some of the trails that this small park offers. It’s perfect for a local hike in an area untouched by the Woolsey fire.

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
