Sostomo and Deer Valley Loop Trail

Here we go again….
Come join me for another adventure 🙂 If you haven’t done this one yet (I haven’t either) You’re in for a surprise. This is considered one of the prettier hikes in the Santa Monica Mountains and even though it is a workout ( yes will have some steep inclines ) will have views of both ocean and shaded scenic spots (hint waterfall in the area ) that will allow us to forget all about the fact were burning some calories. Time to start getting ready for summer! (yes I went there it’s almost summer ) The first part of this trail is a popular portion but as we continue our hike it will become less crowded. I will drop a link as we will be following the AllTrails map so you can get a better idea of the stats and photos of the trail.

Distance 6.3 miles Elevation gain 1811
Loop Trail
Dogs are allowed with leash
Rated Moderate (has some steep inclines)
Parking lot but if full street parking

As always we will be following Jim’s golden rules
1) Hike your own hike
2) Wait at all junctions or splits for others to catch up.

Please note in joining this hike you are responsible for yourself this group or myself takes no responsibility so please know your hiking ability before signing up. However I will not leave anyone behind.
Please remember per CDC must have a face covering.
Don’t forget water, hiking shoes and other essentials

Okay my fellow hiking friends it’s time for us to get out there and explore

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
