Sawmill Mt. to Atmore Meadows Rd.

DESCRIPTION: If you enjoy hiking in high country meadows and old growth pine stands with expansive valley views below and meeting no one else on a backcountry trail in the Angeles Forest, this is a hike is for you. There will also be 3 miles of off-road vehicle thrills each way getting to and from the trailhead.

We need as many folks as possible who have a high clearance SUV/AWD/4WD vehicle to drive to the “Meeting Spot for Shuttle” (below). If you do not have one, that is OK, but we will consolidate down into the high clearance vehicles and shuttle everyone 3 miles up Forest Route 7N23 to the trailhead. We may need to get cozy! We will leave the meeting spot on Pine Canyon Road to drive up to the trailhead at 8:00 am.

Please direct message Tim if you plan to drive a high clearance SUV/AWD/4WD vehicle and let us know how many passengers you can take to the trail head so we can manage capacity to the number of hikers wait-listed.

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
