Saturdays in the Santa Monica Mountains 2024 #2 – Nicholas Pond

Hike #2 in the 2024 Saturday in the Santa Monicas series, is a moderate 8 mile, 2000’ gain out and back hike with a couple loops starting at Leo Carrillo and hiking to scenic Nicholas Pond for lunch with spectacular ocean views and spring wildflowers.

Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and a good attitude. Rain, excessive heat, or Red Flag alert cancels.

We meet at 8:00 AM at the Leo Carrillo State Park parking lot (sometimes there is a wait to unlock the gate) or parkfor free on the side of the road on Pacific Coast Highway.

This is a Back Country hike, and a medical form is required. Please print it out and carry it with you. Copies of the form will be available to fill out at the trailhead as well. You can download the form here. https://tinyurl.com/ycy985mt
