This gentler intermediate hike allows us a chance to get in a hike before our weekend events kick in.
This is an out-and-back 5.7 mile hike with a gain/loss of +/-1200’. It provides a great overview of the Thousand Oaks area, the ocean and the western Santa Monica Mountains. We’ll take the narrow trail that zigzags its way up and then take the trail to the power pole at the top. You’ll be enjoying 360 degree views toward Simi Peak, Lang Ranch and Woodridge trails.
Directions:
From 101: Exit at Westlake Boulevard and turn north (away from the ocean). Drive 4.2 miles to Lang Ranch Parkway, then turn right. Continue 0.2 miles along Lang Ranch Parkway to the trailhead, across from the park and vault toilet.

- Don’t show up unless you’re shown on the “Attending” list.
- Plan on KEEPING UP with the group (2.5MILES/HR+) and completing the entire hike at a moderate pace, or please find an alternative hike that better suits your hiking level.
- Your safety is your own personal responsibility, but the hike leader reserves the right to ask you to leave if you come unprepared.
- No “Plus Ones” or dogs on Weekday Trailblazer hikes.
