Oak Creek Canyon Trail is a rather special trail in Los Robles Open Space that is designed for the blind as well as the sighted. The all-access trail is shaded by a canopy of oaks, while the Los Robles trail spends more time in the chaparral.
We will start at Oak Creek Canyon and proceed to a connector trail a short distance until we meet a junction with Los Robles Trail East. Along this trail, you’ll travel through a couple of very nice oak groves, and get some great views throughout the Los Robles Open Space. We will hike out 2.5 miles and return on the same trail.
This hike will be 5 miles with about a 900’ elevation gain/loss. We will be going at a little slower pace for those of you who want to take it easy. If you wish to go faster, that’s ok, but please wait for the group at all the forks.
Direction: From the 101 freeway, drive to the south end of Moorpark Rd, turn right on Greenmeadow Ave., and go a half mile to the parking lot. You must enter via Moorpark Road. Greenmeadow Avenue does not connect to the parking lot from the opposite direction.
Please review the guidelines (link to the guidelines) to join our hikes.
Restrictions apply for your safety and ours:
- Don’t show up unless you’re shown on the “Attending” list.
- No “Plus Ones” or dogs on Weekday Trailblazer hikes.
