Oak Creek Canyon to Angel Vista

Lets hike a longer way to Angel Vista! We will start from the Oak Creek Canyon Trail off of Moorpark Road. This is a faster paced hike (only break is at the halfway point at the Vista).
To get there, take the Moorpark Road exit and then go west until you reach the dirt lot that says Los Robles Trail (that is not where we are meeting) and then go right onto Greenmeadow all the way to the end. The free paved parking is at Greenmeadow Park. We will meet at the the Oak Creek Canyon Trailhead.
Someone from another group I hike with calls this trail Space Mountain trail because there are a lot of blind curves and bikers on this trail.
It is important that the group sticks together on this trail as there are a few junctions that can be confusing and cause you to take a wrong turn and end up somewhere else. For that reason I suggest if you are a beginner or slower hiker to sit this one out, unless you are familiar with the trail.

Distance: 7 miles
Elevation Gain: 1200 ft +
Difficulty: Intermediate must be able to stay with group

Weather: Windy or rainy weather, extreme heat will cancel hike

Known Dangers: Rattlesnakes, slip-‘n-fall, poison oak, are on this trail, kamikaze mountain bikers, due to the blind curves

Bring: A snack if you need it, light in case it gets too dark for you, wear hiking shoes with good traction as some areas are slick, poles if you prefer
Sunscreen if you burn easily or wear a hat/sunglasses

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
