**DESCRIPTION:**
Join us as we venture into the wilds of one of L.A.’s great outdoor treasures, Griffith Park (a.k.a., L.A.’s Central Park). At 1,625 feet, Mt. Hollywood is by far the most popular hiking trail in all of Griffith Park, thanks to its million-dollar views of Los Angeles, including the Pacific Ocean and the great expanse of the eastern San Fernando Valley. The hike is an approximately 6 mile loop with roughly 1200 feet of elevation gain. **We will meet at the Upper merry go round at the far north end of Parking Lot 2 by the stairs. **For those interested, we may have a possible optional lunch after the hike at one of the Hillhurst restaurants of Los Feliz.**
**WHAT TO BRING:**
Two (2) liters of water, snacks, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, hiking boots or shoes with good traction, daypack, hiking poles/sticks, shorts and a T-shirt or long pants and long sleeved shirt, depending on weather. Clothes should be loose fitting, and light-colors are preferable
**FOOTWEAR:** Hiking boots or shoes with good traction. **Absolutely no sandals or open toed shoes.**
