JONES AND HASTINGS PEAKS

BEFORE YOU WILL BE MOVED TO THE GOING LIST, YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE YOUR CDH PROFILE (The three questions must be answered with a “yes”) IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO

Since we are living in the age of Covid, I am limiting this event to a max of 10 people due to social distancing.

THESE ARE THE RULES:
1. ONLY people I have been hiking with during Covid will be moved to the going list.
2. You must follow all safety guidelines regarding Covid. This means 6-ft social distancing, and wearing a mask.
3. We hike as a group and will not leave anyone behind.

Let’s contnue to bag some peaks in the front range of the San Gabriel Mountains.

First up is Jones peak. Don’t let the height of this peak deceive you. In less than 3 miles, the elevation gain is over 2300′ ft. It’s a short but steep trail that will give you a workout from the start. Next, is Hastings peak which is an additional mile.

If time permits, we may bag a third peaklet close by.

Jones Peak 3375
Hastings Peak 4163″

Gain- 3000′ (approximate)

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
