We will view the surface expressions of the San Andreas Fault (SAF), the boundary between two tectonic plates. We will see old sag ponds, local geology, long linear features, displaced volcanic rock, pulverized granite, shutter ridges, fault gouge on a road cut, and have a picnic lunch in a mountain meadow.
The event will be hosted by Mary Bates, Geography/ Geology Professor, College of the Canyons and the Events and Stewardship Coordinator for the Community Hiking Club (CHC)
