Hump Day- Wildwood Park (exact destination to follow)

Please note: If you don’t show up, or change your rsvp to “not going” less than 4 hours before the start of the hike (which means people on the waitlist miss out) more than once , you will not be welcome to hike with me again. Masks are mandatory as we gather at the trailhead and anytime we gather together!

We will be doing a hike in Wildwood Park (more details to come)

If you want to bring snacks to share, please bring individually wrapped items, so people aren’t dipping into the same bags or containers.

Distance: ~ 4.4 miles
Elevation Gain: ~ 700 ft
Difficulty: Easy to mildly moderate
Dogs: If leashed
Restrooms: Nature
Water Fountain: No
Parking: We are going to park at the tennis courts because the trailhead parking lot closes at 9.
Trail: Single track and fire road
Sunset: Irrelevant
Moonrise: 6:43 PM- almost full

From CA-23:
To exit 15, Avenida de los Arboles. Turn right (east) on Avenida de los Arboles for 3.3 miles until 4 blocks before it ends. There will be tennis courts on the right (at Velarde Dr) with a parking lot.

From Lynn Road:
Turn left (east) on Avenida de los Arboles for 3.3 miles until 4 blocks before it ends. There will be tennis courts on the right (at Velarde Dr) with a parking lot.

Bring:
Flashlight/headlamp, charged and ready to go!
Dress for the weather!

Known Dangers: Attack Skunks, rattlesnakes, slip-‘n-fall, poison oak, bears, mountain lions, heatstroke, rabid rabbits, whatever.

• It is required to carry a mask and wear it through the duration of the hike. Of course we remove our masks when we can but…

• Cover your mouth with your elbow if you need to sneeze or cough.

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.

Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
