Our loop hike begins in the Twin Lakes neighborhood and meanders north through and along Browns Canyon Creek. We’ll eventually head northwest along a network of trails across Deerlake Highlands and descend Echo Canyon connecting our loop with Devil Canyon and back to Browns Canyon.
🌳There will be several shady segments along the way. Bring 2 Qt of water and some snacks.
Devil Canyon, with it’s spectacular rock formations created 80 million years ago in a marine environment, makes for a haunting yet beautiful hike. Live Oak and Willow trees fill the canyon and sandstone geology of the wildest kind is found.
📈Hike will be about 7 miles with 1,000 feet total ascent and rated MEDIUM. See the HWD Hike Rating Guide
