I am lifting the Coronavirus group-size restrictions starting with this hike! RSVP the same way we did a over a year ago.

Join us for our first full-moon hike of the season. Hike will be about 3.5 miles total with about 1000 feet total ascent. I promise there won’t be any bushwhacking or poison oak.

Our destination will be the west peak of Twin Peaks — 1,718 ft above sea level.

Bring some adult beverages to share and food for yourself (or share). Please bring your own cups, plates, flatware, etc

NO WHITE LIGHTS ALLOWED ON HIKE.

Green and/or red lights are ok (but lights will probably not be needed since the area will be well lit by moonlight). If you require a white light then this hike is not for you. (emergencies excepted, of course)

Get one of these and stuff it into your backpack for tonight and future night hikes.

We will watch the sun set and moon rise simultaneously with great views of the Valley. Don’t forget to bring something cold to drink for the peak top

Sunset: 7:35 pm
Moonrise: 7:24 pm

HIKE IS ABOUT 3.5 MILES WITH ABOUT 1,000 FT TOTAL ASCENT AND IS RATED MEDIUM DUE TO TERRAIN. SEE THE HIKE RATING GUIDE

This hike is not suitable for beginners.

Directions:

Our parking and meetup spot is on a new-homes construction site. The streets are paved and the lots are marked, but there are no homes built yet. Its easy to get to, however, some of the streets are so new, they are not on some maps (or GPS) yet, so pay attention to these directions!

21600 Poema Pl is an address near the parking area. The Meetup map works on Windows and Android (Google maps) and takes you to parking area via Canoga Ave.

If you are using iPhone or car GPS, you may need the following directions, or type in the coordinates 34.279440,-118.600440

🚗From Canoga Ave – go north on Canoga Ave past the 118. Bear right and enter the Deerlake Ranch development; head uphill and make a left on Poema Pl. Go past the 21600 address, cross the bridge (that will be the 2nd bridge you cross), then turn right into the construction site for Crestley Homes. Park in cul de sac to the right

🚙From Topanga Cyn Blvd – go north on Topanga past the 118. Turn right on Poema Pl, but don’t go all the way to 21600. Before the bridge turn left into Crestly Homes consruction site. Park in cul de sac on right.

Here is an aerial for reference – note the parking location relative to the given address
