**NO WHITE LIGHTS** – ***Bring a green or red headlamp/light if you have one. If you don’t you can piggy back off mine and the others.’ If you have problems hiking in the dark without a white light, do not attend.***
Our hike begins at Serrania Ridge, a pocket of parkland on the suburban edge of Woodland Hills. The ridge’s name—and its geography—seem to be in limbo. Serrania Ridge is also called Woodland Ridge. Is it a part of the Santa Monica Mountains? Or is it a part of Chalk Hill to the northeast?
We can contemplate these questions as we roller-coaster up and down–mostly up–partaking views of the Santa Monica mountains rising before us, Calabasas hills to the right of us, Chalk Hill to the left of us and the west San Fernando Valley behind us. After about 1 mile we cross dirt Mulholland and continue on a steep trail to the top of the ridge where we’ll turn onto a service road and head up to the water tank. 🍷🥨
