DESCRIPTION:Bucket list trip! \nIt’s finally time to cross off Havasupai! This is not a beginner trip. We will be moving at an advanced pace. To attend this event\, you and I must have previous trip history together\, no exceptions. Feel free to contact me! \nPlease add yourself to the wait-list to indicate interest. \nThese dates are tentative pending permits\, but this is the time-frame I’m targeting. Flexibility is required. It will be warmer\, but we will maximize the opportunity to swim and enjoy the water. We will utilize cooler hours for most foot-travel. \nYou must be able to manage yourself and your transportation. This trip has minimal guidance involving anything off-trail. It may be possible to plan ridesharing by communicating with other attendees. \nThe trip leader will not be traveling back to California after this event and is unable to facilitate rideshares. \nAs this trip is out of state\, communication is critical. If you are attending but have not connected with the group in Flagstaff prior to trail start\, you will be left behind. There is sporadic phone service or no service\, therefore if something comes up\, you must communicate with the group as early as possible. \n\nTotal roundtrip distance: ~50 miles+ \nMore information to come. \nDISCLAIMER: Anything to do with any part of this trip (including hiking\, swimming\, and kayaking) are done at your own risk. SUMMARY:Summerland - Greenwell Preserve Loop - Lunch at Padaro Beach Grill
DESCRIPTION:Our hike begins at the Greenwell Preserve parking lot. We’ll hike up Ortega Ridge to the Ortega Reservoir and then onto the Coffin Family Trail\, passing through wildflower meadows and under botanical archways. We descend back to the ocean along Romero Canyon Creek. From there we’ll hook up with the Summerland Loop Trail\, walk a few blocks in the neighborhood\, past a historic barn and back to our cars. \nOptional: We’ll have lunch at the Padaro Beach Grill in Carpinteria. \nHike is about 4.5 miles with 900 feet total ascent and rated Easy+.
