SUMMARY:Gentler\, but the other way: Longer Hidden Valley Overlook - 5.25 miles\, 925'
DESCRIPTION:If you’re waitlisted for Steve’s hike\, please sign up for this one\, and then remove yourself from Steve’s waitlist. \nThis alternate hike starts at the Wendy/Potrero trailhead\, and traverses the Satwiwa area in the opposite direction to Steve’s hike\, climbs to a beautiful view of the upper Sycamore Canyon and Hidden Valley\, does a loop around the hill at the top\, then descends past the windmill and back to the cars. \nWe may encounter cattle at the top\, or at least “evidence” of their presence 🙂 \nSurprisingly\, there are a number of wildflowers still in bloom\, even now well after the landscape usually turns golden brown. \nPlease review the revised guidelines to participate in our hikes. Restrictions apply for your safety and ours: \n\nDon’t show up unless you’re on the “Attending” list\nNo “Plus Ones” on this hike. SUMMARY:Potrero Rd. & Wendy Dr. Roller Coaster Ride to Angel Vista (Fast Paced)
DESCRIPTION:Please note this hike will start at the trailhead we use for the Boney Hike (junction of South Wendy Drive and Portrero Road). We will take the single track trail about one-half mile to where the Angel Vista TH begins to add about an extra mile to the hike. Hoping to get back before it gets dark\, but please bring a flashlight or headlamp just in case. \nhttp://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/7/2/1/c/600_358949212.jpeg \nOur usual conditions and restrictions apply for your safety and ours: \n\nDon’t show up unless you’re shown on the “Attending” list\nUnregistered or waitlisted will be turned away\nNo “Plus Ones” on this hike\nNo dogs on this or any other Weekday Trailblazers hike\nAll participants must be 18 or older\, or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.\n\nWe’ll take a little roller coaster hiking trip to enjoy the Island views from the Angel Vista picnic area. Reminder: This hike starts at the Boney trailhead going toward Hidden Valley. \nhttp://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/7/2/e/4/600_358949412.jpeg \nA nice moderately strenuous about 6 miles OAB with an elevation gain/loss of 1300 ft. and open space views of the Conejo Valley\, Hidden Valley\, and the Pacific Ocean/ Channel Islands. We will stop at the Angel Vista rest stop/ picnic area to enjoy the views\, take in a snack before heading back to the parking area.
