SUMMARY:Crystal Cove State Park Loop
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a scenic 5.5-mile loop hike with 1\,104 feet of cumulative elevation gain in Crystal Cove State Park! We’ll wander through the upper and lower trails\, taking in breathtaking views of the mountains and ocean along the way. Meet at the Coastal Peak Park parking lot next to the restrooms at 7:30AM. We’ll start hiking at 8 am. You must sign a waiver (given at the trailhead) to participate on the hike. SUMMARY:Mount Pinos Campground via McGill Trail
DESCRIPTION:DESCRIPTION: When it’s hot we like to go early\, get altitude and/or head to the beach! Hiking Mount Pinos will take you away from the summer heat of SCV\, dropping ~20 degrees where you can enjoy alpine views while listening to the breeze gently caressing huge pines. Starting near the Frazier Park sledding location where there is ample parking we’ll follow Cuddly Valley Rd to the McGill Trail head. This is an “out and back” so if you do not want to do the full hike\, you can safely turn around\, whenever you like\, and head back. \nDETAILS: \n\nHike leader volunteer(s): Tim R.\nMeet: Mt Pinos Rd\, Frazier Park at 7:45 am\, departure at 8:00 am sharp (Aug 3).\nDistance: Approximately 10.38 miles.\nElevation gain: Approximately 1\,923 feet.\nTime: Approximately 5 hours hiking including a snack break.\nConditioning: You need to be in generally good physical condition.\nDogs: Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.\nRestrooms: None.\nAdventure Pass: Not Required.\n\nIMPORTANT NOTES: We’ll hike at a brisk pace and ask everyone to stay with the group for a friendly and safe outing. There are no expected stream crossings\, exposures\, bugs or other warnings. As always\, people may slip and fall\, encounter poison oak\, snakes\, etc. on this hike.
