SUMMARY:𝙴𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚝 𝙱𝚊𝚜𝚎 𝙲𝚊𝚖𝚙 𝚃𝚛𝚎𝚔 - EBC! Includes helicopter ride down-
DESCRIPTION:This is definitely a next step if you have done your wilderness training. \nIt embodies adventure and the romance of traveling to far off places. It is also tempered with safety and do-ability. \nI am a certified WFR and will be traveling with the entire way. \nThe actual dates are Apr 25-May 11\, 2025 and the trip is 17 days/16 nights.\nWe have done this adventure twice already\, in 2021 and 2022\, and everybody had a blast! CLICK HERE to see attendee photos of the EBC trek \nWE HAVE MADE CHANGES BASED UPON EXPERIENCE. \n\nWe are ADDING Yoga and Meditation\, and a local expert TO BE WITH US to guide in Buddhist practice and local culture.\nWe are ADDING two days while going up to better acclimatize.\nWe are ADDING a HELLICOPTER FLIGHT from our highest camp back to start point AND REMOVING two days going down by taking the flight.\n\nTo clarify. We are NOT going up to the top of Everest (29\,000’)\nWe are going to Everest Base Camp at 17\,600’\nOur starting elevation will be in Lukla at 9\,400’ \nYou need to be of average or better fitness. If you can manage walking 3-6 hours a day\, up and down a hill while carrying a light daypack\, you will be OK! If you are very fit and work out and train\, you will be at the front. \nProfessional guides to lead\, and Yaks to carry our gear are included. And a Yak Herder too!! \nAll that is left for us to carry is our water\, snacks and camera. \nBut I don’t have the needed gear?!\nSleeping bag and parka\, rated to -10C are provided and walking poles too! \nDoes this include food?\nAll meals on the trek potion are included. \nWhat is lodging like?\nWe are sleeping in a series of “Tea Houses” along the route. You will have a bed in a shared room with roommate (from the group). Sorry\, a solo room will not be available on this trip. We will pair up everybody. \nHow dangerous is this? What if I get sick or hurt?\nThis is NOT the summiting Everest with people dying from bad choices. We will be walking on an established\, well used trail the entire time\, and NOT on snow or ice. Stats from past years show that 30\,000 people a year do the EBC Trek. With all that said\, . . . our trip INCLUDES emergency insurance. We are also Certified Wilderness First Responders.\nPlain and simple\, safety is our primary goal. We will have an experienced guide and porters\, and we will be along the entire way. \nHow much does this cost?\nEverest Base Camp Trip $3750 – 17 Days\, land only (airfare not included)\nFor this trip we don’t offer single occupancy and we match you with a roommate if you don’t have one. \nWe might be able to organize a group airfare from Los Angeles (LAX):**\nGroup Airfare would be around $1600. We will be working on this in the summer of 2024. \nRSVP to this event shows your interest\, but does not hold your space.\nThe only way to secure your spot for this trip is a $250 deposit for the land portion: CLICK HERE FOR SECURE DEPOSIT LINK\nDeposit is refundable up to 90 days before the departure (less PayPal fees). \nFor more information fill out this form: https://forms.gle/cQdqYw74gAYqphXX8 \nLand Cost includes: \n\nAirport pick up and drop off 4 times\n3 nights at Kathmandu hotel\n13 nights Tea House accommodation during the trek.\nKathmandu / Lukla Flights\nAll entries\, required permits and taxes\nGuide\, Assistant guides and Porters\nFood and drinks during the trek\nHelicopter ride back from Gorakshep to Lukla\nSim Card\nSleeping bag\, down jacket\, hiking poles\nWelcome and Farewell dinner\nSightseeing Tour in Kathmandu\n\nThis is the adventure of a lifetime! \nIt is done in a safe manner and includes lots with no surprises.\nTo receive detailed itinerary\, inclusions etc CLICK HERE and fill out our google form. \nAND/OR if you have questions?\nMessage direct to Anna (flights and itinerary)\nMessage Direct to Marc (screen name Oddie) \nAND/OR\nWe do a Zoom Q & A (every other) Wed 6:00-7:30 PM\nCLICK HERE FOR THE Zoom Event\nCLICK HERE for Google Form to get Reminder for the zoom \nNOTE: The “land portion” of this trip starts in Kathmandu on Apr 25 and ends on Mar 11. This event is longer than Meetup date range. Or April 9th to March 12th if you include flight time. \nSOT 2000318-10 \nAs a meetup group we have gone to EBC\, Kilimanjaro\, Machu Picchu\, Galapagos and other bucket list place. Come alone and leave with new lifelong friends. \nLive the adventure instead of only dreaming it!

SUMMARY:ARIZONA: Superstition Wilderness Backpack
DESCRIPTION:Backpacking in the Arizona (Sonoran) desert at low/moderate elevation. The Superstition Wilderness is located east of Phoenix. Itinerary is tentative\, flexible\, and may change depending on the water availability\, ranger advice\, and group preferences. This trip will be conducted at a relaxed pace with no more than 12 miles each day. Your trip leader walks slowly\, likes to stop and breathe and appreciate nature\, and take pictures. This is a trip in the desert – there will only be water at the camps\, be prepared for both heat and cold (snow is possible). The days will be short and the weather can be unpredictable. \nDISCLAIMER: Hike at your own risk. Be prepared and self-sufficient. Be responsible for yourself and your safety. Make good decisions. With any trip\, things can change\, reservations can get lost\, the unexpected can happen. A go-with-the-flow attitude is always a good thing\, and most importantly\, let’s all have fun! Make sure you are in good enough physical shape for the distance\, elevation changes\, and terrain. The hike leaders in this group aren’t professional hike leaders. By signing up for these events\, you agree not to hold the Meetup organizers responsible for whatever happens to you on these events. The hiking group does not certify the expertise of the organizers\, the event or assistant organizers (hike leaders) and…We are NOT responsible for any possible losses or injuries.
