SUMMARY:Nicholas Flat from Leo Carillo State Park - Intermediate to Strenuous
DESCRIPTION:Time to go to the beach! And up a long hill\, around the pond\, and back down the hill. We may even stop at your grandmother’s house. Our route will take us from the outer parking lot at Leo Carrillo State Park (just off PCH at Mulholland) all the way up to Nicholas Pond. We’ll do a “double lollipop”\, with a loop around the pond and another at the bottom\, by taking an alternative (but beautiful) route back to the cars on Willow Creek Trail. \nThis hike is a little over 7 miles\, with 2\,100′ elevation gain and loss. Bring lots of water please. \nDirections \nTake PCH to the entrance of Leo Carillo State Park just east of Mulholland Drive\, and enter the park (or park on PCH where permitted). We will meet in the outer parking lot (on the land side of PCH). \nPlease Read Below In Its Entirety \nPlease review our guidelines. Restrictions apply for your safety and ours: \n\nDon’t show up unless you’re shown on the “Attending” list.\nPlan on KEEPING UP with the group and completing the entire hike at a moderate pace\, or notifying the hike leader that you are turning back and know your way back.\nYour safety is your own personal responsibility\, but the hike leader reserves the right to ask you to leave if you come unprepared.\nNo “Plus Ones” or dogs on Weekday Trailblazer hikes.\nAll participants must be 18 or older\, or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.\n\nDisclaimer / Release Of Liability \nThe hike host is a volunteer and not responsible for the group.
