SUMMARY:Las Virgenes Canyon/Cheeseboro Ridge - a Gentler Hike
DESCRIPTION:This week we’ll head over to the east end of the Conejo Valley for our hike. This is similar to the hike that Steve led a couple of weeks ago\, but it has a different starting point at the end of Las Virgenes. The hills are amazingly green right now\, so we’ll enjoy them again. We’ll start at the Las Virgenes Canyon trailhead at the north end of Las Virgenes Canyon. The trail begins with a steady climb up from Las Virgenes Canyon before climbing over to Cheeseboro Ridge. The climb will be a bit steep\, but we’ll be on a good fireroad. We head south on the Cheeseboro Ridge Edison Rd before completing the clockwise loop back down to the start. Along the way we’ll see some great vistas into Las Virgenes Canyon\, Ahmanson Ranch and Cheeseboro Canyon. \nStatistics: 5.7 miles with about 1000’ of climbing. \nDirections: From the 101 in Agoura\, turn north on Las Virgenes Canyon Road. Drive about 1.5 miles to the end of the road and park on the left side of the road. The trailhead is marked clearly.
