DESCRIPTION:The hike we are doing is about 10 miles with 1\,000 ft of elevation gain \n**Must register here:\nhttps://letsgooutside.org/activities/2024/08/03/wilderness-access-day-limestone-canyon-57/ \nAll participants are required to have\, a printed copy or on their phone\, the confirmation email to show through the window of their vehicle to drive through the entry gate. \nYou will need the confirmation email for you and your guests to enter the trail system. \nStart your weekend off by exploring numerous opportunities found throughout magnificent Limestone Canyon. Designated trails will be open for self-guided trail use in OC Parks’ Irvine Ranch Open Space. Trail routes vary in distance and level of difficulty with choices ranging from easy one-hour walks to strenuous 15-mile cardio treks. Whether traveling by feet or wheels\, Wilderness Access Day in Limestone Canyon is a treasure waiting to be discovered by hikers and mountain bikers alike. \nParticipants will want to plan their day successfully by using Trail Tips to prepare.

SUMMARY:Limestone Canyon Hike to Both Sinks ***Must Register on LetsGoOutside.org
DESCRIPTION:I’m excited to do another hike to the Sinks! This is an event through the Irvine Ranch Conservancy\, so you must register at the below link as well. \nhttps://letsgooutside.org/activities/2024/04/13/limestone-canyon-weekend-hike-to-both-sinks-7/ \nThe hike will be 10 miles with 1\,000 ft. of elevation gain. \nJoin us on this fast-paced hike over the ridge and the through beautiful Limestone Canyon Nature Preserve\, part of OC Parks’ Irvine Ranch Open Space. While this will not be a cardio hike\, it will be a steady pace of 3 mph with short breaks at the East and West Sinks viewing platforms. We will enjoy a view of wonderful vistas in addition to spectacular view of The Sinks. This hike involves hiking on both double and single-track trails with an elevation gain of 1000. \nPlease come prepared with a sturdy day pack\, water\, snacks\, closed-toe hiking shoes or boots\, sunscreen\, first aid\, and all other supplies to keep you safe and healthy on the trail on this half-day hike in the wilderness area. Under-prepared hikers may be denied access to the event. \nPlease note that you will be asked to adhere to the following measures in order to participate: \nBe registered in advance\, no walk-up registration is permitted. \nArrive with all necessary equipment to keep you safe on the trail\, including water\, proper attire\, and closed-toe footwear\, first aid\, health needs etc. \nRestrooms will be available\, but facilities will not be sanitized for each individual. \nAll participants are required to sign a liability waiver upon arrival at the staging area and before beginning the activity. SUMMARY:Los Robles Trailhead II ~ Braille Trail ~ Gentler Friendly
DESCRIPTION:Our hike leaves from Greenmeadow Trailhead (a.k.a. Braille Trail) This loop hike is also about 5 miles with about 800′ of total elevation gain\, spread out nicely\, because we are doing about the same hike counterclockwise\, reverse to Laurie’s group and pass each other about halfway.\n“Robles” is Spanish for oaks\, and we’ll see plenty of them on this beautiful\, hike. \nTrailhead Directions: From the 101 in Thousand Oaks\, turn south on Moorpark Road. Drive about 0.5 miles turning RIGHT onto Greenmeadow Avenue\, travel 0.4 miles to the end. The trailhead is to the left.
