DESCRIPTION:Oak Creek Canyon Trail is a rather special trail in Los Robles Open Space that is designed for the blind as well as the sighted. The all-access trail is shaded by a canopy of oaks\, while the loop trail spends more time in the chaparral. The trails form a U-shape that is connected by hiking a tenth of a mile on Greenmeadow Avenue.\nWe will start at Oak Creek Canyon and proceed to a connector trail a short distance until we meet a junction with Los Robles Trail East. Along this big loop\, you’ll travel through a couple of very nice oak groves\, and get some great views throughout the Los Robles (along the Los Robles Overlook/Scenic View Loop) and Los Padres trails encompassed in the Robles Open Space. There is a very short section along streets/sidewalks when we return back to the latter part of Oak Creek Canyon Trail and complete the big loop.\nThis hike will be a five-mile loop with about a 900’ elevation gain/loss. \nDirection: From the 101 freeway\, drive to the south end of Moorpark Rd\, turn right on Greenmeadow Ave.\, and go a half mile to the parking lot. \nPlease review the guidelines (link to the guidelines) to join our hikes.\nRestrictions apply for your safety and ours: \n\nProof of vaccination required.\nDon’t show up unless you’re shown on the “Attending” list.\nPlan on KEEPING UP with the group and completing the entire hike at a moderate pace\, or please find an alternative hike that better suits your hiking level.\nNo “Plus Ones” or dogs on Weekday Trailblazer hikes.\n\nDISCLAIMER/RELEASE OF LIABILITY – PLEASE READ IN ITS ENTIRETY\nThe hike host is a volunteer and not responsible for the group.
