SUMMARY:Doin' the Big\, Fig Newton Canyon - Red Flag Cancels
DESCRIPTION:Newton Canyon looks like it’s the most protected during Tuesday’s Santa Ana winds. However\, if there’s an active Red Flag warning\, we will cancel. Please check back before traveling Tuesday morning. \nFrom the Kanan Rd trailhead\, we’ll jump on the Backbone Trail for a cruise down into Newton Canyon. On our way there\, we’ll cross the creek\, pass under an oak canopy\, and come out into an opening. At the opening\, look toward the sandstone formations in the distance\, and we may see a flow of water from Upper Newton Falls. \nOnce we hit the fire road we will go up and across for one-half mile to get a total of about 6 miles with about 1000’+ total elevation gain. \nPlease view our “About” page for how we run our hikes.\nRestrictions apply for your safety and ours: \n\nDon’t show up unless you’re on the “Attending” list\nUnregistered or waitlisted will be turned away\nNo “Plus Ones” on this hike\nPlan on completing the entire hike or please find an alternative hike that better suits your hiking level.\nNo dogs allowed.\n\nDirections: \nExit 101\, then go south (toward beaches) on Kanan Road about 8 miles to just before the third tunnel (T1). The parking lot is on the right. \nFrom Pacific Coast Highway\, go north on Kanan Dume Road about 4 miles and make a left turn into the parking lot immediately after going through the first tunnel. \nParking is free. \nBring sunscreen\, plenty of water\, and wear sturdy shoes and a sun hat. Please consider bringing the 10 essentials (https://bit.ly/1vB2Avz)..) \nDISCLAIMER / RELEASE OF LIABILITY \nIMPORTANT\, PLEASE READ BELOW IN ITS ENTIRETY: \nThe hike host is a volunteer and not responsible for the group. Safety should be a priority for everyone in the group. Please treat this meet-up as hiking with a group of friends. If you become fatigued and unable to continue the hike\, it is expected you will advise the hike host of this and return to our starting point on your own. If you are able to proceed\, it is expected that you will maintain line of sight with other members of the group at all times and help to promote the group’s safety and fitness goals. \nOutdoor sports and other events we plan can be inherently dangerous and accidents may happen. By participating in any posted event\, you are taking responsibility for your own safety and well-being. The Weekday Trailblazers Meetup Group and its organizers are not trained leaders and we do not confirm the qualifications of any of its members to lead or participate in trips. All participants take full responsibility for their own actions. \nIf you choose to sign up for this or any Weekday Trailblazers Meetup event\, you are releasing the Weekday Trailblazers Meetup Group and its organizers from all liability in case of possible injuries. Your personal safety depends on your own judgment and experience. \nAll participants must be 18 or older\, or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

SUMMARY:Chesebro Canyon MTB trail potluck hike - Time change & start time change
DESCRIPTION:Fit Beginner 4.3 miles\, 480′ gain.\nEasier Option: 4 miles\, 230′ gain. \nWe walk a mostly flat section for 1.1 mi. to the 2nd junction. \nEasier option: Continue straight for 3/4 mi.\, left at the split\, right after another 500′\, arriving at some picnic tables on the right after another 750′. \nRegular route: Left\, heading up a switch back. Right at the top\, and continue for 3/4 mi.\, turning right where it ends. Head down to the bottom\, left at the split. After 750′\, we arrive at some picnic tables on the right. \nThis is a pot luck picnic. Please bring something to eat and drink to share. If your item requires it\, bring plates and utensils to share. You may wish to bring your own cup\, plate\, and utensils in case there aren’t any. Pot Luck guidelines Link \nWe’ll share snacks and drinks for 60-90 minutes\, then return by a straight path\, no turns. \nFun Facts\nWhat is MTB?\nAnswer: Mountain Bike (not Mountain Terrain Bike)\nThe name I see on a map is: Chesebro Canyon MTB Trail \nWhy is it spelled Cheeseboro Canyon\, Chesebro Canyon MTB Trail\, and Chesebro Rd?\nThe original owner of the land in the late 1800s was Oscar Cheesebrough. The NPS adopted the U.S. Geological Survey spelling of Cheeseboro\, while Caltrans adopted the name Chesebro.\nReference Link \nHosting \nRoute\nThe host knows the route. A pic of the route has been posted as part of this description. The host may vary the route slightly. \nNavigation: Host memory\, enhanced by GPS navigation as needed. \nHike type: Social.\nWe won’t be hiking at a fast pace because this is a social hike\, not a conditioning hike. There is nothing wrong with stopping\, even if it means every 50 steps. \nStops:\nWe will stop at junctions to make sure everybody makes any turns\, else something will be used to mark the direction. \nEach hiker is responsible for knowing their capability\, only attending events where they are able to sustain the described pace\, for keeping up with the group sufficiently enough to make the turns and not get left behind. \nInteresting Notes\nHere are a couple plants you are sure to see on this hike: \nBlack Sage\nMultiple brown buttons going up the top of the stalk\, that may have white flowers. Green leaves. Purple or white flowers that are dark brown as they dry on the plant. Squish the leaves and smell. \nA rare and sought after Black sage honey is also made from the honey of bees that pollinate the Black sage plant. Black sage is utilized in the culinary world as an aromatic and flavorful herb. It can be used in recipes wherever traditional sage is called for\, however keep in mind that foraged Black sage has a much stronger flavor than that of traditional store bought sage. \nIts flavor goes well with winter squashes\, brown butter\, poultry\, venison\, pears\, cheese\, potatoes and other herbs such as rosemary and thyme. Use fresh in a variety of different preparations or leaves. Can be dried and stored for future use as a dried herb. \nBlack sage was used traditionally by Native Americans known as the Chumash people to form an herbal soak for the bath to be used in the treatment of bodily pain\, specifically for the feet and lower legs. \nOther\nDogs must be kept on leash and away from the picnic table. \nDirections\nChesebro Canyon MTB trail\n5402 Chesebro Rd\, Agoura Hills\, CA 91301 \nFrom I-101:\nExit Chesebro Rd..Palo Comado Canyon Rd.\nContinue north. It becomes Palo Comado Canyon Rd and rotates west.\nRight at Chesebro Rd. for 0.4 miles.\nPark on the street.\nAfter the 1 lane bridge\, you’ve gone too far. \nFAQ\nHiking Plus Page Links\nDisclaimer / Release of Liability

SUMMARY:Ventura Winter Wine Walk
DESCRIPTION:Many of us from this group will attend this event. In the past\, the Ventura Wine Walks have been a really incredible time! \nThe festival takes place along 4 blocks of Main St.\, between N. Fir St and S. Palm St. \n{ TRAIN OPTIONS – travel via the train } Link to Amtrak\nThe train station is 8 – 15 min walk\, depending on which end of the festival.\n$18: 769 Pacific Surfliner – Simi Valley (SIM) 12:11p\, Ventura (VEC) – 1:03p\n$18: 794 Pacific Surfliner – Ventura (VEC) 7:43p\, Simi Valley (SIM) – 8:40p\nThese times will be updated as the date nears\, because the schedule often changes slighty. \nI don’t recommend buying tickets.\nInstead\, buy what you want to eat and/or drink as needed at various businesses\, or bring your own (fastest and least expensive). \nWhat follows\, it mostly from the advertisement: \nFor those that still want to buy tickets ($?? – $??? with fee): (Link to purchase tickets coming soon) \nSuggested check-in: Winchester’s Saloon \nThe Social Event Of The Year is BACK! The Ventura Winter Wine Walk & Holiday Street Fair will once again return to beautiful Ventura on Saturday\, December 7\, 2024! \nThe Most Magical day in Ventura will kick off with the FREE Fiesta Street Fair from 12pm-8pm in Downtown Ventura from the Museum of Ventura County through the 600 block of Main Street with vendors and live entertainment. Shop artists\, crafters\, non-profit organizations\, commercial and food vendors. \nThe street fair and entertainment is FREE and open to the public starting at Noon! \nTHE WINE WALK 4pm – 8pm\nTicket Purchasers: CHECK-IN TIME IS FROM 3pm-5: 45 pm.\nYou will not be allowed to participate if you arrive after 5:45 pm\, No refunds will be issued. \nWine Sampling is from 4pm-7: 00 pm.\nHoliday Street Fair is Noon-8pm.\nSnow Fall at Main Stage will begin at 6:45 pm.\nMusic ends at 8 pm. \nThe Wine Walk will showcase Wineries and Breweries in your favorite Downtown businesses. Space Is Very Limited this event Sells Out Every year…Get Your Tickets Today! \nAll guests MUST START at your designated check-in location before they can start the Wine Walk\, if you purchased tickets. \nThere are many check-in points\, and which one will depend on the ticket you buy. Regardless of where you check in\, please get there early enough so that after checking in\, you are able to make your way to: \n4pm\nWinchesters Grill and Saloon\n632 E Main St.\nVentura\, CA 93001 \nPhotos from prior Winter Wine Walk 2022\nPhotos from prior Winter Wine Walk 2023 \nNote: Parking can be tricky\, and you may need to walk several blocks\, maybe even further. I recommend adding 45 minutes for parking and walking to our meet point. \nThe event time is set for 3p\, but we’ll meet at 4p. That will give people time to check-in if they bought a ticket\, because the check-in process can take 1/2 hr. \nNote: This is a loosely coupled event.\nEverybody will not be together at all times. Instead\, we’ll likely encounter members of our group during the event\, especially at the start. \nFAQ\nHiking Plus Page Links

SUMMARY:Wilderness Access Day - Limestone Canyon - **Must sign up on LetsGoOutside.org
DESCRIPTION:I’m so excited for another Wilderness Open Access Day at Limestone Canyon. We will be doing the out and back trail to the Sinks. The hike will be about 8 miles with roughly 800 ft. of elevation gain. \n**You must sign up here:\nhttps://letsgooutside.org/activities/2024/12/07/wilderness-access-day-limestone-canyon-59/ \nAt the time of posting\, there are 189 spots left of 400. \nFrom the site: \nAll participants are required to have\, a printed copy or on their phone\, the confirmation email to show through the window of their vehicle to drive through the entry gate. \nYou will need the confirmation email for you and your guests to enter the trail system. \nStart your weekend off by exploring numerous opportunities found throughout magnificent Limestone Canyon. Designated trails will be open for self-guided trail use in OC Parks’ Irvine Ranch Open Space. Trail routes vary in distance and level of difficulty with choices ranging from easy one-hour walks to strenuous 15-mile cardio treks. Whether traveling by feet or wheels\, Wilderness Access Day in Limestone Canyon is a treasure waiting to be discovered by hikers and mountain bikers alike.\nParticipants will want to plan their day successfully by using Trail Tips to prepare. \nPlease note that you are asked to adhere to the following measures during the activity in order to participate: \n\nArrive with all necessary equipment to keep you safe on the trail\, including water\, proper attire and footwear\, first aid\, medications\, etc.\nRestrooms will be available\, but facilities will not be sanitized for each individual.\nVisiting the highly popular “The Sinks” is a 9-mile round trip hike over moderate terrain and can take the majority of the designated event time.\nOC Park Rangers require all trails to be cleared for closure by 2:00pm.\nNo new trail users will be permitted onto the trails at least one hour prior to closing.\nDogs are prohibited on the Irvine Ranch Open Space. By nature\, dogs are predators; their presence and their lingering scent disturb the indigenous wildlife and disrupt vital routines long after a dog has left the area.\nMinors\, ages 18 and under\, should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.\nAdult mountain bikers and equestrians are requested to wear helmets. Minors are required to wear helmets per state law.\nMotorized recreation vehicles of any class or type are not permitted for use in the Irvine Ranch Open Space.\nInclement weather or fire danger will cause the program to be cancelled.

SUMMARY:Learn Rock Skills & Meet the Legendary Lynn Hill
DESCRIPTION:December 6-8\, 2024 (registration link at the bottom)\nClimbSmart is the largest gathering of climbers at Joshua Tree\, and is owned and managed by Friends Of Joshua Tree (501 c3\, founded 1991). Now in its 29th year\, this event kicks off the climbing season in Joshua Tree with education and stewardship as the primary pillars\, as well as the chance to give back to our Park and those who actively conserve it. Over 300 attendees are anticipated every year\, and the mix of climbers represents a unique blend of new entrants to the sport and old-school traditionalists. Partners in anchoring the Climb Smart presentations include the National Park Service\, top athletes\, native tribes of the region and local legends. \nClimb Smart is a 3-day event\, running all day Friday through Sunday on a special weekend in the Fall each year. Special mini-clinics run by working guides at Joshua Tree National Park offer introduction and refresher content in 2 or 3 session tracks\, as well as managed toprope climbing for those who simply want to try their skills on the quartz monzonite stone. Each evening a catered dinner is provided and a stage show delivers entertainment\, inspiration and more education in multimedia format. We always have great brand sponsors and local and regional retailers as well as a killer raffle. The attendee of Climb Smart will leave more experienced\, better networked\, psyched for climbing and likely with some swag items too. \nOne of the unique offerings at Climb Smart is working with professional climbing guides in mini-clinic format which allows for getting to know several different organizations\, style differences\, and consistencies between climbing schools. In the end\, all of the guide organizations invited to participate in Climb Smart are top shelf\, longstanding professional outfits permitted by the Park and have strong reputations in the climbing community. \nIt’s VERY IMPORTANT to realize that the clinics at Climb Smart are NOT full course days with guides and instructional outfits. The clinics at Climb Smart are designed to be an introductory experience of a topic (or refresher experience)\, in order to facilitate a climber’s decision to move forward in the various disciplines of climbing. It’s one of the great values of the event\, but also important to not convey a sense of overconfidence with skills. Practice takes many days/weeks/months\, and an introductory experience can help set the table for a lifetime of safe\, informed and adventurous climbing outdoors. \nLearn More about Climb Smart \, register here\nhttps://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/0ca5abe9-b4e1-43de-bb30-3ded31222d29

SUMMARY:Las Llajas - Suitable for beginners
DESCRIPTION:5 miles\, 500′ gain\, Beginner \nThis hike is a great trail for beginners because all the elevation gain is distributed. It is a walk down a rolling fire road through a really cool canyon\, and you will find no difficult or extended elevation climbs. \nThis is one of my favorite trails for people new to hiking. It is an “out-and-back” hike\, where we return the way we came\, so there is virtually no chance of getting lost. You may be amazed that such a place exists right here in Simi Valley. \nFrom the trail head\, we’ll walk down an asphalt path for several hundred steps and turn right onto a gravel fire road. After that\, there will be no more turns. We may take a detour up a trail off to the right to see the first bee sanctuary\, then return back to the fire road. \nWe’ll continue on the fire-road for about 1 mile. We’ll stop there (in the shade if summer) to allow others to catch up. \nThen we’ll take a 200′ detour to the left to see another bee sanctuary\, which continues in a half circle back to the fire road. Even though I haven’t seen any actual bees there in a while\, it’s still interesting to see. \nWe’ll continue for another 1.5 miles and have a social event\, right on the trail. We’ll share snacks and beverages. For the return\, we go back the way we came. \nThere is a lot of wild life along this trail because it is the only area with water for quite a distance. \nThis is a social hike\, not a conditioning hike. Still\, for those that aren’t interested in the beverage and/or snack share and want more of a workout\, just continue on for another mile\, then turn around and come back. That’s about how long we’ll be before packing up and heading back the way we came. \nInteresting Notes:\nTree Tobacco (Nicotiana glauca)\nElongated yellow flowers. The Cahuilla Indians used the leaves interchangeably with other tobacco species in hunting rituals and as a poultice to treat swellings\, bruises\, cuts\, wounds\, boils\, sores\, inflamed throat\, and swollen glands. \nIt does not contain nicotine. It contains anabasine\, a similar compound\, which is highly toxic to humans and animals. It is more toxic than nicotine. Ingestion of the leaves can be fatal. It is being investigated for use as a biofuel. All parts of this plant are toxic. \nUsed as an insecticide. Do not smoke it. \nThe Hike\nDistance: 5 miles\nGain: 500′\nDistribution: Well distributed.\nDifficulty: Beginner\nShape: Out and Back.\nPace: 2.0 mph.\nTrail Type: Fire road.\nTrail Variations: Rolling stroll.\nDuration: 3.5 hours\nDogs: Yes.\nRestrooms: No\nDrinking Fountains: No.\nParking: Free along street. \nWhat to bring:\n1 liter of water for every 3 miles.\nSnacks and/or beverages to share\nHiking shoes preferred\, but athletic shoes will be OK.\nFlashlight or headlamp.\nSunscreen and/or hat as needed. \nHosting \nRoute and Navigation: Host memory\, enhanced by GPS navigation as needed. \nHike type: Social.\nWe won’t be hiking at a fast pace because this is a social hike\, not a conditioning hike. There is nothing wrong with stopping\, even if it means every 50 steps. \nStops:\nThe host may designate stopping points to let others catch up. This hike will include an extended stop for a snack and beverage share at the half way point. This hike does not have any junctions or turns once past the initial path down to the fire road. There may not always be a sweeper designated to be the last hiker. \nSince this hike is out-and-back on a wide fire road with no turns after the first 500′\, one cannot get lost. Therefore\, for this hike\, it will be acceptable to split from the group moving faster\, slower\, or otherwise at your own pace. \nGroup separation:\nSometimes hikers wish to move significantly ahead and not wait at designated stopping points. Please let the host know. They are on their own regarding route and navigation. \nDirections\nLas Llajas Canyon Trail\n5715 Evening Sky Dr\nSimi Valley\, CA 93063 \nFrom the west\n23-N to 118-E\, Exit 29 Yosemite.\nFrom the east: 118-W\, Exit 29 Yosemite.\nHead north on Yosemite for 1.25 miles. Turn right (east) on Evening Sky Drive and proceed for 0.5 miles.\nSee the trail head on the left. Park along the street. \nFAQ\nHiking Plus Page Links\nDisclaimer / Release of Liability

SUMMARY:Rancho Sierra Vista to Ranch Overlook Loop
DESCRIPTION:Note that this is a different start than the usual Rancho Sierra Vista Parking Lot!! Read carefully!! We have not done this hike in over a year and a half. \nWe will meet at the trailhead parking area at the intersection of Wendy and Portrero Road. Pay attention as this is different than the Parking Lot where we often meet. There have been occasional reports of breakins at this trailhead\, so don’t leave any valuables in your car. See directions below. \nThis will be a big loop throughout the upper mesa. We will take a brief break about 2/3 of the way through the hike at the only place where there is any shade and a few tables. Bring plenty of water\, wide hat\, sturdy shoes or boots and hiking poles if you favor them. \nTotal distance is roughly 6 miles\, with about 1000′ of elevation gain. There is little shade during this hike. \nNote that this is a gentler hike but not a beginner hike. It is a convoluted trail so we will try to keep the group together. We will go about 2.5mph. \nDirections: \nTake Highway 101 to Thousand Oaks. Exit at Wendy Drive. Go south (towards the ocean) on Wendy all the way until it dead ends at the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. There is ample free parking on the dirt along the road. No restrooms. \nLunch Afterwards: Three Amigos on Reino Road in Newbury Park \nDISCLAIMER / RELEASE OF LIABILITY \nIMPORTANT\, PLEASE READ BELOW IN ITS ENTIRETY: \nThe hike host is a volunteer and not responsible for the group. SUMMARY:Coyote Park - Intermediate
DESCRIPTION:Distance: 3.5 miles\, Gain: 700′\, Intermediate.\nThis was previously designated easy-intermediate\, but some thought it should be labeled as intermediate because of the extended inclines. \nA strong and motivated beginner can do this hike. They would be challenged and slow during a few of these climbs. We’ll start at Coyote Park\, across from the tennis courts on Valley Gate Rd.\n• After heading across the park\, we’ll find a trailhead.\n• We’ll head up and wind around for about 3/4 of a mile.\n• Then we’ll make a sharp left and head up for about 1/2 mile.\n• We’ll stop at the bench atop the hill and have a social event and shack share that will last about an hour.\n• Then we’ll follow the ridge for about 3/4 of a mile on a relatively flat section\, then another 1/4 mile down to the road. We’ll wait there for everybody to catch up.\n• Next\, we’ll follow the path alongside the road for about 500′ (flat walk) and turn left. This will be a flat section that leads for almost a mile back to the park. \nDirections \nFrom CA-23\nNorth\, exit Olsen Rd.\nOlsen Rd. east\, becoming Madera\, for 1.8 miles.\nRight on N. SUMMARY:Parker Mesa Overlook - Intermediate Hike
DESCRIPTION:School traffic and traffic on Topanga Canyon Blvd can make the drive longer than you expect\, so please allow enough travel time! \nTopanga State Park is 36 square miles of natural wonder ensconced within Los Angeles’ city limits. Starting at Trippet Ranch\, we’ll ramble through a shady oak grove favored by mule deer and into stretches of grassland. \nBeyond the ranch\, the trail begins to rise along the ridgeline between Topanga and Santa Ynez Canyons. Giant slabs of sandstone mark the route to their former home beneath the Pacific Ocean.\nWhen the rising is done\, we’ll rest on Parker Mesa Overlook\, with the entire LA Basin stretched below us\, the majestic San Gabriel Mountains to our north\, Catalina Island to the south\, and the sweeping crescent of the Santa Monica coastline to the east. \nThis is about a 6.7 mile out and back hike\, with 1200’ feet of elevation gain. \nDirections: \nFrom the 101\, exit at Topanga Canyon Boulevard (CA 27)\, drive south over the crest of the mountains and proceed three miles to Entrada Road (not Entrado!) and turn left. Keep to the left at every opportunity until you reach the park’s main parking lot (about one mile) \nFrom the Pacific Coast Highway\, travel north on Topanga Canyon Boulevard\, pass the post office at the center of “town\,” then turn right on Entrada Road. Keep to the left at every opportunity until you reach the park’s main parking lot (about one mile). \nParking is $10.00/$9.00 for seniors (exact change\, although I think they take cc) in Park. There is some street parking (free) outside of the park on the road. \nDISCLAIMER / RELEASE OF LIABILITY\nIMPORTANT\, PLEASE READ BELOW IN ITS ENTIRETY:\nThe hike host is a volunteer and not responsible for the group. \nIf you choose to sign up for this or any Weekday Trailblazers Meetup event\, you are releasing the Weekday Trailblazers Meetup Group\, its organizers\, and sponsors from all liability in case of possible injuries. Your personal safety depends on your own judgment and experience. You agree that you can navigate back to your transportation by yourself\, and agree to do so if you fall behind and lose track of the main body of hikers. \nBy now you should know the guidelines to participate in our morning hikes. Please review them before you sign up for the hike. And just in case\, here are some highlights and a link to the guidelines:\nhttps://www.meetup.com/The-Weekday-Trailblazers/about/ \nRestrictions apply for your safety and ours: \n\nDon’t show up unless you’re on the “Attending” list\nUnregistered or waitlisted will be turned away\nNo “Plus Ones” on this hike\nPlan on completing the entire hike or please find an alternative hike that better suits your hiking level.\nNo dogs on this hike\nBring ample hydration\nAll participants must be 18 or older\, or accompanied by an adult

We’ll be stopping at the 3/4 point by a picnic table\, so please bring food and drink to share\, and any utensils your items might require. You may wish to bring your own cup\, plate\, and utensils in case there aren’t any. \nWe have had occasions where there were no utensils\, so it might be wise to at least bring your own. \nWe start at Conejo Canyons Trail Head\, 2010 Conejo Center Dr\, Thousand Oaks\, CA 91320. \nWe’ll hike downhill from the trailhead for 0.6 miles. \nFor the regular route\, we’ll turn left and continue uphill for 0.6 miles on the Western Plateau trail and follow the fire road around to the right at the top\, then mostly flat for about a mile\, then dropping for another 1/2 mile. \nAt the bottom and when coming to a junction\, turn right onto Hawk Canyon. Our picnic spot is 1/4 mile up Hawk Canyon at the table under the trees. \nFor the easier option\, instead of turning left at the first junction\, we’ll turn right. After 0.6 miles\, the picnic area will be on the left. \nAfter the potluck\, we’ll continue up Hawk Canyon in our clockwise loop for 0.6 mile where the trail ends back at the Western Plateau trail. Take a left up the hill back to Conejo Center Dr. For those that came on the easier option\, it’s a return the way you came. \n** If you plan on leaving before the group\, please familiarize yourself with the planned route\, which can be accessed by clicking on the below link: \nThe Hike\nDistance: 4.2 miles / 2.7 miles\nGain: 700′ / 500′\nDistribution: Well distributed.\nDifficulty: Easy Intermediate / Fit Beginner\nShape: Lollipop.\nPace: 2.0 mph.\nTrail Type: Fire road and single track.\nTrail Variations: Rolling stroll and ramp.\nDuration: 3.5 hours\nDogs: Dogs must be kept on leash and away from the picnic table.\nRestrooms: No\nDrinking Fountains: No.\nParking: Free along street. \nWhat to bring\n1 liter of water for every 3 miles.\nSnacks and/or beverages to share\nHiking shoes preferred\, but athletic shoes will be OK.\nFlashlight or headlamp.\nSunscreen and/or hat as needed.\nInsect repellent (optional). \nHosting\nRoute: The host knows the route.
That’s OK\, because this is not a conditioning hike\, it is a social hike. \nThe Route\n• This is a lollipop with a counter-clockwise loop.
