DESCRIPTION:Full moon potluck. Bring drinks and snack to share. Sitting on dirt not required. Comfy picnic benches at the top. Plenty of free parking \n👉NO WHITE LIGHTS ALLOWED ON HIKE. Green and/or red lights are ok (but lights may not be needed since the area will be well lit by the moon). \nIf you require a white light then this hike is not for you. It is also this year’s Sturgeon Moon. SUMMARY:"MONDAY NIGHT BRISK" 7 Mile Loop -Griffith Park Lot 2 to Mount Hollywood
DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE 10 MINUTE GRACE PERIOD.This is a three hour hike at a “brisk” pace \nTime – Meet at 6:30 p.m.\, leave at 6:40 p.m.Distance – 7.0 milesElevation gain – approx 1500 ft.Difficulty – INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED. No beginners! Please be prepared for a fast paced hike with minimal stops. Please no recent injuries! This hike is intended as a decent workout as well as enjoyment of the scenery. A mixture of fire roads and single track trails up\, all fire roads down. There is one very steep trail at the final ascent to Mount Hollywood with a length of .2 miles. \nStarting at Parking Lot 2\, we take the Fern Canyon Trail to 5 points\, then ascend to the Helipad. From there we turn left down the Riverside Trail to the Greek Theater\, turning right past the bird sanctuary to Mt. Hollywood. After a brief stop there enjoying the city panorama and snapping a group photo\, we return to lot 2 via the North and Bill Eckert trails. \nSuggested to bring– Headlamp – bring white light if you need\, but please dim it and don’t point it in anyone’s eyes.– Good shoes\, trail runners may be best for this one.– Plenty of water

DESCRIPTION:Give the ecosystem a helping hand at Harmon Canyon working under the guidance of Ventura Land Trust (VLT) leaders. Exact activities will be determined day of the volunteering but example tasks are: hand pull small invasive plants\, hike 1 mi for streambed invasive plant removal (tamarix). No plant expertise necessary. \nBRING gloves\, spade or hand tools. BRING water and sun protection. \nAll volunteers will sign a VLT waiver at the event. As part of the Sierra Club group\, you understand that you may be with vaccinated and non vaccinated people and chose to participate regardless. Do not attend if you exhibit COVID symptoms. You are required to notify the leader if you test positive for COVID after the event. \nThis is a Ventura Sierra Club Green Team eligible event. What is Green Team?
