SUMMARY:Haunted Scary Dairy Farm\, Camarillo
DESCRIPTION:The Camarillo State Hospital dairy farm at one time thrived with cattle and working patients from the hospital. Today it is known as the Scary Dairy and it is haunted! \nThis is a two part hike making it suitable for beginner and fit beginner/intermediate. \nPart one: We will hike about ¾ mile through lush vegetation to the dairy farm\, take time to explore the area and view the buildings. Then we will continue to the trail\, and those who wish to leave at this point are welcome to do so. \nPart two: We will hike a nearby trail with a gain of about 600′ with a couple of steeper areas. We will stop for a snack at a grassy area with views of Camarillo\, the Pacific\, and Channel Islands. After break time\, I may decide to continue on the trail another mile or so just to get in more hiking but that will be an unanimous group decision. \nMEETUP TIME AND OTHER INFORMATIONThe meet up time is at 9:45 am at the gravel parking lot near the dairy\, There is a parking fee of $6.00 (cash) – a kiosk with envelops is located there.
