SUMMARY:Los Robles/Moorpark Trail
DESCRIPTION:NOTE: \nThis is a second (and slower) hike for Tuesday\, we will see how much it rains this weekend\, but it should be okay. We will take this Los Robles trail with lots of trees and hopefully no mud. \nThis is a loop of about 4.5 miles with about 800′ of total elevation gain\, spread out nicely\, with a little bonus loop through Oak Creek Canyon. \n“Robles” is Spanish for oaks\, and we’ll see plenty of them on this beautiful\, relaxing hike. \nTrailhead Directions: From the 101 in Thousand Oaks\, turn south on Moorpark Road. Drive about 0.5 miles to the parking lot at the corner of Greenmeadow and Moorpark Road. \nPlease review the guidelines to participate in our hikes. SUMMARY:Pre-turkey trot~Intermediate 8 mile hike~RayMiller Trail and Overlook Trail
DESCRIPTION:Join us on a pre-turkey trot up the Ray Miller Trail and the Overlook Trail. We’ll turn back around the Guadalasca Trail intersection. We’ll enjoy beautiful ocean views as we descend. We’ll pick up about 1500’ gain on this 8 mile adventure. \nLying along the brilliant blue Pacific Ocean at the west end of Malibu (just shy of Port Hueneme)\, the swelling blue ocean is rivaled in beauty by the undulating native California grasslands. On a clear day\, the Channel Islands are easily within sight. Most of the trail is exposed\, so sunscreen is highly recommended and plenty of water. Mosquito season should be over so it’s up to you whether you should bring bug repellent. \nWe’ll meet in the parking lot near the Ray Miller Trailhead (look for the brilliant yellow sign). There is a parking fee in the lot (or free with state parking pass).
